The Shared PC Account Manager service is responsible for managing user accounts on shared PCs. It provides a number of features that are designed to make it easier to manage and use shared PCs, such as:
- The service can automatically create user accounts for users when they sign in to a shared PC, and delete those accounts when the users sign out. This helps to keep the shared PC clean and organized, and prevents users from leaving behind personal files and data.
- It allows administrators to configure a number of account management policies for shared PCs. These policies can be used to control things like how long user accounts are kept inactive before they are deleted, and what permissions user accounts have on the shared PC.
- It can be used to configure shared PCs into kiosk mode. In kiosk mode, the shared PC will automatically launch a specific application when a user signs in.
